April 10, 2012 To whom it may concern: It has been my pleasure to have Miss Amber Keech as a student teacher

in my classroom for the spring semester as well as during the fall semester as an anchor placement student. During this time Miss Keech has grown in her ability to plan, manage and perform the tasks necessary to be an effective educator. Miss Keech has a very positive attitude and consistently displayed a professional demeanor. Miss Keechs interactions with students, parents and other staff members were always very respectful. She has shown a great deal of initiative and her organization, commitment, flexibility and willingness to assume extra responsibilities are impressive. During her student teaching experience Miss Keech led Morning Meeting using Responsive Classroom techniques. She planned and implemented lessons in language arts, including three guided reading groups, writing, math, including large and small group guided instruction, social studies, science and technology. She developed an extensive unit on insects that included many interactive activities. Miss Keech was cognizant of students individual needs academically and socially and planned lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners. Classroom management was an area that Amber worked hard on during her student teaching experience. She learned that providing clear and consistent expectations generated attentive and cooperative students. She designed and successfully implemented an individual behavior plan for a particularly challenging student. Miss Keech is a very responsible and determined individual. She sets goals and energetically puts forth the effort and time needed to accomplish them. She views critiques as opportunities for growth and self-evaluates for improvement. I am confident in my recommendation of Miss Amber Keech as a highly qualified candidate for an elementary teaching position. Sincerely,
