Lesson: Money-Counting Like Coins Lesson 2 Standards:

Date: Tuesday, March 13, 2012

CYMA02.1.1.10: Count a collection of coins up to and including one dollar. Objectives: Students will count groups of like coins. Learning Goals: Students will understand how to count like coins. Materials and Resources: Counting Money Worksheet Envelope Worksheet 20 envelopes filled with coins and labeled.

PROCEDURES: Introduction: Students will review counting like coins by completing the money counting worksheet. Students will switch with a member at their team to check the answers. During the Lesson: Students will each be given an envelope containing like coins. They will also be given a worksheet. Students will count the coins in the envelope and record the amount on the worksheet. After they are finished counting the coins in their envelope, they will switch with someone else who is done and count those coins. This will continue until each student has counted the coins in each envelope. Conclusion: We will review how much money was in each envelope. Adaptations: I will monitor students with ADHD to ensure they are completing the activity and not getting off-task. I will also remind them to handle the coins with care. Assessment: I will collect the worksheets to make note of how well each student did with the activity. Self-Reflection:
