Letter from the lieutenant

Happy June, Pandas! Summer is finally here. Yay! We know have more time to SERVE our community. I hope that everyone did well on our finals. As we are now out of school, spend more time with your family! Officers, please remember that Key Club is a year around organization. We should still be having summer board meetings, club meetings, and service projects! One of my biggest goals is to increase service hours for the division by 1,000 hours. Summer is a great time to be working towards this goal! I would like to congratulate everyone for the service that we have already done! For the first two months of the new term we have served 2,691.75 hours of service. Wow! All I can say is thank you, and I hope you continue to serve. I look forward to seeing you soon! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me.

With much love,

RJ Immerman

Officer Training Conference (4/27/13)
This month, the newly elected officers for the 2013 2014 all gathered at Liberty High School to be trained, so they could serve their club as the best officer they could be. It was a great division bonding and learning experience. Good luck officers!

Kiwanis Chili Cook-off (5/19/13)

On a hot Saturday, Division 28 Kiwanis held their first annual Kiwanis Chili Cook-off. All of the Key Clubs in Division got the unique opportunity to bond with their Kiwanis Advisors and other clubs in the Division, all while tasting tons of chili and raising money for project eliminate. In the end, Faith Lutherans chili was crowned the winner and Division 28 South raised about 1,000 dollars for Project Eliminate.

Relay For Life (5/18/13)

It was a breezy Friday afternoon when numerous clubs from around Division 28 flocked to Liberty High School for Relay For Life South. Clubs from our own division were there such as CASLV , Valley, and Liberty. We enjoyed an opening speech by our very own LTG RJ Immerman and many other great speakers, who educated us further on the impact cancer has had in our community. There were also musical performances and even a twerk contest. The most memorable moment for most was the Luminaria ceremony. Paper bags with candles in them lined the track, each telling a different story of someone who experienced cancer. On the bleachers, the luminaria spelled out the word hope. The silent laps we walked will stick in my mind for a very long time and I hope in many others. Relay for life was certainly a moving and fun event.
