CIRCULAR - SUMMER SEMESTER -2013 It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that Summer Semester-2013 is scheduled to be held from 01-07-2013 to 07-09-2013. The duration of the Summer Semester will be nine weeks, out of which eight weeks will be for teaching and the ninth week will be for end semester examination. Selective courses will be offered by the concerned departments in accordance with the instructions and policy mentioned below: A. 1 INSTRUCTIONS An Academically Deficient Regular Student as well as a Casual Student having F Grade in any course will be eligible for registration if the same course is offered. Also a student having a grade D can register himself to improve the grade. As per policy of the HEC, a student will be allowed to get himself registered for Two (02) Courses at maximum irrespective of the credit hours. As soon as a student is registered for a course, his previous grade for that course whether low or high shall be cancelled, and only the latest grade earned by the student shall be considered for the computation of CGPA. The contact hours during the summer semester shall be doubled to ensure that the course is completely taught in a summer semester with half of the duration compared to a regular (Fall or Spring) Semester. The registration, attendance, conduct of examination and result display policies etc. during the summer semester shall be followed as that in case of regular semester. Letter grade awarded during summer semester shall not be more than a B grade. The registration fee @ Rs. 1000/- per credit hour plus Rs. 600/-examination fee will be required to be deposited by the candidates alongwith the Summer Semester Registration Form.

POLICY Summer Semester for 2K9 Entry There will be no restriction of minimum Strength. A student can register a maximum of two (02) courses irrespective of credit hours. The condition for classes will not be compulsory for those offered courses, in which the strength of students is less than five (05). (applicable for 2K9 -Entry only) The students attempting a course with 2K10 and/or 2K11 entries will be governed by the rules and policy applicable to those entries.

Summer Semester for 2K10 and 2K11 Entries Minimum allowed strength for a course will be five (05) students. A student can register a maximum of two (02) courses irrespective of credit hours. The students will not be allowed to take courses offered specially for 2K9 Entry (i.e. Non Teaching Courses). Note: The students of 2K7 & 2K8 if any will be governed by the policy notified for Summer Semester-2011. These students are therefore, required to see the undersigned in this connection.

The students who want to register themselves for Summer Semester-2013 are directed to contact the Chairman of their Departments for guidance before registration to seek assurance whether a course is being offered or not. The prescribed Registration Forms are available in the office of the Chairman concerned. The Registration forms along with the fee deposit slip shall be submitted in the office of the Chairman, at the latest by 27-06-2013. For guidance of the students the detailed procedure for registration in Summer Semester-2013 is

separately notified vide Office Notification UET/Exam/2013/89, dated 13-06-2013.

CIRCULAR DETAILED PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION SUMMER SEMESTER - 2013

Detailed procedure for Registration in Summer Semester-2013, scheduled from 01-07-2013 to 07-09-2013 will be as follows: 1. Students should obtain Summer Semester Registration Forms from concerned Chairmans Office. 2. Duly completed Forms (Without Depositing Fee) be submitted in the respective Chairmen Offices at the latest by 20-06-2013. 3. The Chairmen of respective Departments will display the list of courses to be offered and list of Students who will be registered for these courses in Summer Semester 2013 on 27-06-2013 in accordance with the Circular Notification No. UET/Exam/2013/88 dated 13-06-2013. 4. 5. 6. Fee will be deposited on 24-06-2013 only for the offered courses. Summer Semester teaching will start from 01-07-2013. Final list of registered students along with courses will be displayed and communicated to the Controller of Examinations on 27-06-2013 by the respective Chairmen Offices.
