Emerging Markets – PricewaterhouseCoopers.

As part of the client visit to ICAEW, PWC gave a report on the emerging
markets.

• 2025 China will overtake US as the world largest Economy


• India could catch the US by 2050
• Brazilian economy could be larger than the Japanese economy by 2050
• Russian, Mexican & Indonesian economies will be larger than German,
French and UK economies by 2050

So how global is our student population?

Import and export of students and graduates should be a priority on all


universities agenda.

Over the next two years we will hear a lot about BRIC expansion (Brazil, Russia,
India and China)

They have opportunities in ALL of this offices for both UK and overseas students
(depending on languages). Students can apply in the UK for places aboard or
they can apply directly to the countries they are interested in. they can have
interviews in the UK for places abroad.

N.B. Any student with language skills are of great interest to PWC –regardless of
degree discipline.

As of 31st March 2009, PWC will have 3192 students and graduates in global
programmes and secondments around the world.

UK is the second largest host country for international student after the U.S.

International students can boost the UK economy once they enter the job market
and their home economies as more and more business expand abroad.
PWC have had 85% increase in applications to their Chinese resourcing initiative
this year.
