1. His real name is George Herman Ruth. 2. He was Born Feb. 6, 1895. 3. At 7 he was sent to an orphanage/reform school. There he was introduced to to baseball and exceled at it. 4. He played for Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and the Boston braves. 5. He was a left hand pitcher, catcher and batter. 6. He was 62 tall and weighed over 300 lbs during his professional baseball years. 7. People know him as the Sultan of Swat or the Great Bambino. 8. He held over 60 records during his career. 9. The bat he used during his first game with the New York Yankees sold at auction for 1.3 million dollars, more than an other bat has sold for. 10. Babe Ruth died in August of 1948 of Throat cancer at age 53.
