NOTES FOR GUIDANCE 2012/13

1. Two bursaries are available for 2012 entrants, each covering the full standard rate of tuition fee for the one-year MSc programmes within the School of Computer Science. 2. The MSc Bursary is intended to encourage high-calibre students for whom financial considerations may prevent uptake of a place in the School of Computer Science. 3. Selection of successful candidates will be based primarily upon financial need and secondarily upon academic merit. 4. Priority will be given to students who are self-funded i.e. intend to fund their MSc programme through their own contributions through employment, personal savings etc. 5. Additional means-testing may be applied if further refinement of applications is required. It is therefore recommended that any support in the form of government benefits is supplied along with the application form. 6. Priority will be given to students from the UK or the EU. 7. Successful candidates are requested to write a note of thanks to the award donors, Dr Paul and Mrs Yuanbi Ramsay, at the end of the first term of the academic session. They welcome ongoing interaction with successful candidates throughout the year. 8. The deadline date for receipt of applications for the 2012/13 academic year is Friday 13 July 2012. 9.
