    This evening lecture will introduce attendees to the great temples of ancient Egypt. Over the course of three hours, the speaker will explore the functions of Egyptian temples and take attendees on a tour of various temples along the Nile, including Hatshepsut's Mortuary Temple and the Temple of Horus at Edfu. The lecture will discuss the temples' roles in Egyptian religion and provide an overview of temple architecture and design. The event will include two question and answer sessions, as well as a refreshment break.

    ABOUT THE SPEAKER Thomas H. Greiner completed his M.A. in Egyptology at the University of Liverpool in 2011 and was active as President of the SSEA Vancouver from 2011 to 2013. He has taught for both SFU and UBC Continuing Studies and has been active promoter of ancient Egypt in Vancouver.
