Presentation
MBA type course in a context of the globalisation of the world economy it enables the University of Orleans to enhance its international renown. It will replace the current Post Graduate Certificate in European Management and will offer a full degree programme for future foreign managers. OBJECTIVES The aim of this course is to offer non-francophone students the opportunity to acquire fundamental knowledge in the following disciplines. European management, Financial management, European Law European Business Law, French . SPECIFICITIES The course will be taught in English either by faculty from the University of Orleans or visiting professors from our partner universities in Europe our outside Europe. Non francophone students can study intensive french at beginner or elementary level Future managers from Asia, USA or elsewhere will be able to acquire a better knowledge of the working of the EU and european business practices INTAKE Students who have a Bachelors degree in one of the following subjects. Languages, Humanities and Social, Sciences, Management, Law,Economics With at least an upper intermediate level in English (216 TOEFL) Students whose mother tongue is French will not be eligible JOB OPPORTUNITIES Graduates will be able to work in the following areas : o Multi-national companies or in international departments of national companies o In SMEs in their country of origin o In marketing departments, Human resources, finance etc.

Rules and recommendations


All students are required to attend all classes and lectures. Any student not fulfilling this requirement may be banned from taking the exam or exams. Only students who have a medical certificate are excused. During the current academic year several students failed because of plagiarism, plagiarism or copying of a whole or part of an assignment is strictly forbidden by French law. No exams will be organised outside of the set exam timetable. Students must find their own internship.

EC11A BRITAIN AND THE EUROPEAN UNION

This course aims to provide students with an overview of Britain's relations with the EEC/EU, focusing on the main political, economic and social dimensions of this relationship since the end of World War 2. In doing so it will broach a number of contemporary issues in Britain and Europe (choice of currency, economic interdependence, public opinion, democracy and decision-making at a European level...), giving them a historical perspective. If we have the time, we will touch upon a comparison with Ireland in Europe. The course focuses on the further improvement of the students' oral and written skills in English and on the development of their analytical skills through the study of a variety of sources (political speeches, press articles etc.).

At the end of the course, students must be able to comprehend the nature of European law through analysis of its institutions and sources of law. They must also understand the basic mechanisms of interaction of the European legal system with other international legal systems and Member States legal systems

Description This course provides the student with a basic understanding of business organizations. This seminar introduces students to the main principles of corporate law in France and in other Member States of the European Union. Corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships, as well as LLPs and LLCs, are compared and contrasted.

Description This course focuses on financial tools critical to making sound managerial decisions. Students learn how the macroeconomic effects of interest, exchange, and inflation rate conditions are tied directly to corporate profitability and risk. Asset valuation methods, risk measures, capital budgeting techniques, and decision rules for managing value-at-risk are presented. Derivative securities including futures, options and swaps are introduced along with associated international financial reporting standards.

This course is an introduction to contemporary French society for students for whom French is not the first language and who are unfamiliar with the country. Amongst topics which will be addressed are: social and economic geography, politics and political institutions, regional differences, the economy, trade unions, the education system, cultural issues and Frances international position.
