How to Calculate a Grade Point Average from an Indian System to a 4.

1. Scores between 8 and 10 are equal to a 4.0. Scores between 6 and 7 are equal to a 3.0. Scores of between 3 and 5 are equal to a 2.0. Finally, scores between 1 and 2 are equal to a 1.0. For example, if you have three grades, 8, 6, and 3 in the Indian system, you have a 4, 3 and 2. 2. Add the converted scores together. For example, 4 + 3 + 2 = 9. 3. Divide the figure by the number of scores. For example 9 / 3 = 3. In this example, your GPA is a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

To calculate the GPA, total the credit hours and then the grade points from all semesters. Divide the total grade points by the total credit hours.
