Field Disassembly - KGD Valves

Page 6 Remove the two elastomer sleeves. Remove the clevis and cotter pins from the yoke/gate. Remove the frame mounting hex nuts, lockwashers and frame mounting hex bolts. Lift and remove the frame complete with actuator from the housing assembly. Original Design Remove the wiper mounting hex screws, the two wiper retainers and the elastomer gate wiper from the top of the housing assembly.

New Design and Universal Design Remove the secondary seal retainer mounting hex screws, the retainer and secondary seal from housing Remove the two housing hex bolts and separate the housing assembly in two. If required, remove the actuator from the frame assembly by removing all actuator fasteners.

Valve Assembly Original Design Page 7 Ensure that all internal cavities are free and clear of hardened slurry or other obstructions. Join the housing halves together Replace yoke and jam nut. Assemble actuator and frames to make one assembly. Place the knife gate into the yoke and replace the clevis and cotter pins.

Replace the elastomer wiper, wiper retainer and fasteners Insert the beveled edge of the knife gate into the wipers until the frame mounting bolt holes are aligned with the two holes in the housing assembly. Replace and fully tighten the frame mounting hex fasteners. Insert sleeves Fully tighten all fasteners to the recommended torque valves shown in Table 2, Page 4.
