SQUID Installation Method Primary configuration on machine in which install the SQUID First share internet through Linux

Netting How IP forwarding in Linux Open the following file Vim /etc/sysctl.conf In line number 7 erase the 0 and write 1 Save and exit from file and gave the following command for restore Sysctl p How Netting in Linux Firewall rule apply for netting that is follow Iptables t nat A POSTROUTING o eth1 (WAN interface) j MASQUERADE Now save the firewall rule through this command Service iptables save Secondary configuration in which we configure the SQUID PROFILE OF SQUID RPM Name Service Name Port No Configuration main file path Start Configuration Open the configuration file which path is written in profile of Squid Vim /etc/squid/squid.conf = Squid-2.6 = Squid = 3128 = vim /etc/squid/squid.conf

Search the /http_port Press N and search the line number 919 and enable this line This line containing the port number in which squid running

Search the /spool And now enable the line number 1782 In this line the cache size is configure which is maximum as you have hard disk drive Cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid 100 16 256 Here 100 is the cache size in MB And now enable the line number 1821 In this line the size of object in cache configured And now enable the line number 1944 In this line user browsing detail is stored And now enable the line number 1960 In this line cache health is shown And now enable the line number 1970 In this line the store in cache shown Search the /cache_mgr And now enable the line number 2940 In this line the message you write is shown in browser when any one browsing against the squid polices And now enable the line number 637 After enable the line erase the deny and write the allow Now save the file configuration is completed
