Sounds and Intonation


What are the main point in this section? First we will focus on accent and intonation. These are two of the ways in which speech is difficultly acquired, and especially if it is not a native language. Here I will discuss the different. By talking about intonation, we refer to the stressing of certain syllables, the rising/lowering of intonation to refer to a question or a statement, or change in duration of one of the syllables. When we talk about learning a particular segment, we refer to the sound that you try to learn. So for example, if you learn English, you need to learn the English R.
