Summary
Cisco Enterprise Architectures with a hierarchical network model facilitate the deployment of converged networks. The Cisco Enterprise Composite Network Model defines three functional areas: Enterprise Campus, Enterprise Edge, and Service Provider Edge. Converged networks with their traffic mix have higher demands on the network and its resourses. The SONA framework guides the evolution of the enterprise network toward the IIN. The network models can be important tools for selecting and implementing an advanced IP routing protocol.
