ALAN PARKER CONSTRUCTION ARCHITECT EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT I.

JOB DESCRIPTION Tom Kaiser (Architect) is responsible for planning and specifying jobs assigned to him by Alan Parker (Owner) or Ben Ostrow (Sales Manager) on behalf of Alan Parker Construction (Company). He takes a job from inception to ready-for-construction. His responsibilities include producing preliminary and working drawings, verifying job conditions, producing complete job specifications and schedules, pulling permits, and dealing with the customers. A.SPECIFIC DUTIES Actual determination of the following specific duties will be at the discretion of the Sales Manager or Owner: 1.After a lead has been taken by the office and a first appointment has been made by the sales department, the Architect will field check the site, measuring the job and noting existing conditions. Produce as-built and proposed drawings as directed. 2.Once a client has been contracted with, the Architect produces additional design drawings, and full working drawings as required. Coordinate with outside engineers, planning and building departments, or other agencies as required. The Architect reviews final plans and specifications to ensure that there are no conflicts, or problems in filing and obtaining building permits. 3.As directed by the company, submit plans to Building and Safety and follow through to permit issuance. 4.A complete drawing/specification package shall include all of the following, as applicable to the job: -Photographs of existing job and site. -Accurate site measurements and dimensions as needed for construction. -Plot plan with setbacks and easments. -Existing & demolition plan. -All pertinent ELEVATIONS, SECTIONS, INTERIOR VIEWS, DETAILS; ROOF TIE-IN (accurate as poss); all relocations of items. -Schedule of appliances/amenities, and who is supplying items. -Remodel items; tie-ins; -GENERAL FINISH specs; DOOR schedule; WINDOW schedule; BATH, KITCHEN, &/or SPECIALTY specs, gutters & downspouts. -Accurate EXISTING STRUCTURAL as it affects project: piers, foundation, joists, eaves, roof, rafters, floor level above grade, electrical. -Specialty details: ELECTRICAL; HVAC. As needed: soils, geological, survey; energy, mechanical, structural calcs.

5.As needed to insure a properly and accurately specified job, the Architect will meet with Alan, Ben, the customers, and/or the company production manager or carpenters to explore potential problems and get decisions made by the customer. NOTE: It is the Salesperson's or Architect's Responsibility to either: A) order appliances or specialty finish items; or B) Provide complete ordering information to the production department, including source and lead time. 6.The Architect shall assist Alan in doing plan take-offs and budget work ups. 7.The Architect shall assist in change order preparation by determining and writing change order specifications, costs and drawings (if applicable) and submitting to Ben for Customer approvals. 8.The Architect shall be available for clarifications with the customer or the production manager throughout the job. 9.The Architect shall maintain an adequate supply of basic drafting tools, equipment and supplies to meet the needs of the company. Consumable supplies such as paper, lead, erasers and tape are paid for by the Company. 10.At the discretion of the Sales Manager, the Architect shall assemble and provide appropriate literature of finish items for the customer. These may be informational only, or may be signed by the parties and incorporated into the contract documents. 11.The Architect shall provide his own transportation and must show the company proof of current automobile insurance. 12. The Architect must be aware of any company rules, safety regulations and policies which affect his position or those under his responsibility, and must be familiar with the current policies on keeping job cost folders. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Architect shall be compensated as follows: Annual salary of $55,116.00, payable $2,116.00 biweekly. Medical expense reimbursement of $200 biweekly. Car expense reimbursement of $250.00 biweekly. Reimbursement of professional membership and registration fees with the American Institute of Architects, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, the State of California Consumer Affairs Department and any other fees required of a registered architect in the State of California at an approximate annual cost of $500.00. Paid sick time. Paid vacation time to accrue at 5 days each 6 months. Paid holidays: New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

GENERAL PROVISIONS: 1.Architect recognizes that work at Alan Parker Construction takes precedence over Architect's personal projects. 2Architect shall not be responsible for providing his own Errors and Omissions Insurance but shall be covered by Company's general liability insurance policy. 3.Owner and Architect agree that this Contract may be terminated at any time by either party, with or without cause. In the event either party terminates this Contract, one (1) month's notice shall be given.
