57 and 58. Research: Find out the uses of radionuclides in the following areas:

Medicine Agriculture Industry Research For each area you should give three (3) uses and appropriate examples for those uses. For instance, "Cobalt -60 is often used in the medical field to treat certain types of cancer". You should give a BRIEF explanation on how your specific example work...."Cobalt-60 decays it produces high energy gamma rays which destroy the cancerous tissue". For each of the above mentioned areas (medicine, industry, etc.) you should also find out about the drawbacks/ problems/ associated with the use of radionuclides. Note: This short research would be used for an in-class group acitivity at our next class. So....make sure and be there to get credit!!!
