Bacterial Bioleaching Of Sulfide Mineral Ores By Mixotrophic Bacterial Consortia

4. Conclusions
Mixotrophic bacterial consortia used in this study have the potential for leaching iron as a gangue metal in sulfide mineral ores and are applicable to bioleaching of precious metals in sulfide mineral ores. These bacteria had the ability to leach gangue of precious metal in mineral sulfide ore with 16.37% leachate of iron (approximately 15 times higher than uninoculated control medium) and 14.3% total sulfate concentration (approximately 6 times higher than uninoculated control medium).
