Ref: Boards letter No. E(P&A)I-2001/RT-2(KW) dated 2.1.2004 One of the Railways, have brought out that session in certain ITIs/Professional institutions concludes in July/August and the cut off date for reckoning the eligibility being 30th June, the Drivers whose wards have appeared in final year/waiting for final result from such institutions cannot avail this Retirement Scheme in that particular year. Keeping this aspect in view, it has been decided that where the employee and his ward is otherwise eligible and the ward is already admitted to a course in such Technical Institutions rendering him eligible for Assistant Driver's post, relaxation in cut off date for eligibility i.e. 30th June laid down in para 2(vii) of above referred Board's letter may be given by Zonal Railway but in any case not beyond the last date fixed for withdrawal of such request i.e. 30th of September. However, for this purpose, the employee will have to obtain such relaxation from Railway Administration within the cut off date for submission of application i.e 31st of July of the respective year. 2.
