The Revolution is a Drawring metod of solving Descriptive Geometry problems, unlike the another metod called change of position in this metod is the object who chance his position, not the observer; this metod is used when isnt posible or feasible change at observer position, in this situation the solution is turn the object, making possible obtain the required target.

A point revolves around an axis. A point revolves perpendicular to the axis. A point revolves in circles centered on the axis. The point view of the axis show the circular path of revolving point. When the axis is in true length the path of the point will appear as a straight line whose length is equeal to the diameter of the circular path.

If a line is parallel to a plane of projection is projected over that plane in true length, therefore, if a line is situated around an axis that is parallel to the projection plane, then it appear in true length.

There are two conditions to turn a plane until it appears in actual size. 1) must be rotated about an axis belonging to foreground. 2) The axis must be parallel to the image plane on which to project the plane. So if the real size of the plane should appear on top view, After determining the location of the axis, revolves all planes until the plane is horizontal

Draw a horizontal line on a plan view. If you want to get the real dimension plane in the front view make the line in the top view; if you want to get the real dimension plane in the top view make the line in the front view.

Projecting the line in the other view, this line was in that view true length.

Make an parpendicular auxiliary view to the line projected on the plane, this line should be seen as a point in that plane

Revolves the plane in the auxiliary view until it is perpendicular to the line of projection, the plane must be of equal length.

Projecting the plane back into the source view. The length of the projection lines must be the same, the points should move parallel to the lines of projection. IT IS IN REAL DIMENSION
