Mystery

Literary genre whose plot involves a crime or other event that remains a puzzle until the end. Stories that have been passed down from one group to another. These stories typically started out as oral retellings with no know original author. A fictional story that takes place in a specific time period. The setting and some of the characters may be based on reality, but the story comes from the author's imagination. A story that is not possible. It may include magical powers or talking animals.

Verse that is written to describe a feeling or thought. It is often written with rhythm and rhyme.
