Grid and Cluster computing

BY ANSHITA SHANDILYA

WHAT IS GRID COMPUTING??

IT is collection of information and resources from multiple locations and reach a common goal.

It differs from cluster computing as it is loosely coupled.

What is cluster computing??

The technique of linking more than one computer in a particular network is called as cluster computing. The basic difference between cluster and grid computing is that in cluster computing the computers are connected locally while in grid the computers dont have to be in same location.

Types of Grid
Computational grid Data grid Manuscript grid Modular grid Collborative grid

Advantages
Reliable Efficient and scalable Controls traffic overload High speed Less time consumption

DISADVANTAGES
High cost of maintainence Non interactive Vulnerable to interference Complex
