Challenge 1 Robot that fights, loses limbs, and adapts (Program remote?)
Challenge 2 Create a scale (Ultra sonic or motor?) Everything must weigh the same as a duck o o o Challenge 3 Duck > Nothing Other objects > Nothing Other object = Duck
Create a robotic gang of Robin/minstrels that navigates scary forest while playing a merry tune Must follow a line Must sing (Light sensors)
Challenge 4 Create a robotic catapult that is capable of launching a variety of items over an 18 inch wall when the item is placed in the basket Must sense when item is loaded (Motor)
Lego Programming
Today: Reflection, roles, tinker Install software THEN connect computer Tasks: Document Finish building Install (Kim) Test Program Tinker Perfect/Expand
Programming Sample:
Test 1: Straight down Test 2: Changed basket: Straight down Test 3: Started straight: More forward Test 4: Stop catapult through programming : More loft Test 5: Catapult rotates 100 instead of 90 Test 6: Increasing rotation 150: Still straight up, almost caught it Test 7: Added back: more of a line Test 8: Kept back; Adding rotation stop point (90) (Speed 100) Ball went straight, not enough Test 9: Adding rotation stop point to 75 Test 10: Adding length to launcher: Went straight up Test 11: Changing stop point to 90 Test 12: Added back: Forward Test 13: Decreased angle to 75 Test 14: Added MOTOR (More is better) Fail only one motor Test 15: BOTH motors working now: Epic Fail (Issue with the motor dipping at the start of rotation
Test 16: Added support under motors; added support under the launch pad (Arm sitting higher initially) Ball falling straight down (Moving around prior to launch? Test 17: Placing piece in front of ball to stabilize Test 18: Test 19: Raised ball off platform, balanced on beams; Using rotate motor command instead of rotate motor x command (Tell each motor to move individually instead of at the same time) Motor did not start on command Change of command ball still straight down Test 20: Removed second motor: A lot of force0020behind throw, more stable Test 21: Decreased the rotation angle from 90 to 75 (Need more loft) Test 22: Added tower; lowered angle from 75 to 50 (No movement) Test 23: Still with tower, putting angle back to 75; flew 3-4 feet Test 24: Lowered tower went shorter
Day 2: Adding a gear to the motor to expand the rotation point, potentially increasing speed First test: Success!
Problem: Gear providing more power but it wasnt stable with the launch pad. Solution: Add rubber bands to connect the motor with the launch pad
Outcome: Success!
