MUSI2205 or MUSI3307 Creative and Professional Practice Music Project 6 UNITS SEMESTER 2, 2013 OPEN TO ALL ANU STUDENTS Individual research project within a group-learning model, catering for all disciplines Includes some practical musical involvement but no previous musical experience is necessary String players welcome, but previous experience on a stringed instrument is not necessary Enrolled students will: o Develop a research project as it relates to their principal discipline/interest o Play in an intergenerational string ensemble. This ensemble will include players of all ages and skill levels, including beginners. o Collaboratively develop a plan for an intergenerational, multi-skill-level string ensemble o Have the opportunity to play in a culminating concert with the MEP Big Gig What will you take away: o Practical musical development on a stringed instrument o Research skills related to your own discipline o Leadership, networking and social skills relating to running a community organisation o Skills to start and lead similar intergenerational, multi-skilled ensembles Assessment: Individually negotiated student assessment contract based on major discipline which may include quantitative or qualitative research and/or creative output For further information email sarah.pettigrove@anu.edu.au or visit our website at http://studyat.anu.edu.au/courses/MUSI2205
