PSA Peugeot Citron and Siemens VDO Automotive Sign Technological Innovation Plan
PSA Peugeot Citron and auto equipment manufacturer Siemens VDO Automotive have signed a partnership agreement to implement a technological innovation plan. The plan covers three major areas of research: Powertrains, with a focus on: A shared, modular engine control software platform for both diesel and gasoline engines Emission control systems

Electrical/Electronic Architecture, with a focus on: The integration of the AUTOSAR concept (group of carmakers and automotive equipment manufacturers designed to formulize a standard protocol in electronics) Enhancing systems reliability Developing the secure data transfer protocol Comfort and driver support systems

The partnership will develop innovative solutions capable of meeting the increasing expectations of carbuyers for lower costs, higher quality and more extensive features. For both partners, it will help to create a critical competitive advantage as they define future vehicles.
