CLWSC Requested Increase TCEQ Approved What this means to ratepayers - Will receive a rebate from 38 % interim rates charged. - < 50% of request approved so CLWSC can not collect rate case costs from customers, ~ $ 970,000 savings. - Removed ~ $ 3.5 million in questionable CLWSC rate base costs.

Refund will be a credit for future service if you remain a customer or refund if you have terminated service.

Passage of HB 1600 and SB 567 changed regulation of Investor Owned Utilities like CLWSC. Benefits for ratepayers are:
- Transfer to PUC for regulation and oversight. The transfer takes place on September 1, 2014. - Utilities will have to file testimony with their application for an increase in rates. This should mean getting most of the utilitys cards on the table at the beginning of the case. - There will not be a rate increase until there is a decision made by the Commission in almost all cases.

Another CLWSC rate increase is about to be filed this summer!
