I believe you will find me to be a dedicated, flexible, and passionate educator who is capable of providing leadership to students and staff that will lead to student achievement in both music and academic settings. I have been a music educator for seven years. During this time I have worked with music students in grades one through twelve and have taught elementary essential music, band, orchestra, and high school music courses in music technology and theory. Having experiences at all levels of the music program gives me great insight into how district music programs run. As a graduate of Duquesne Universitys Supervisor of Music Certification program, I have gained the necessary skills needed to be a successful leader of the LightPointe School District Music Department. My leadership is based on creating a clear vision for the district that puts achievement of the whole child first. I am grounded on solid personal and moral ethics that creates a strong character leader. Communication is another foundational pillar of my leadership style. Through proper communication with all program stakeholders, the music program at LightPointe with thrive through my leadership. Being a music supervisor is about orchestrating students, staff, office personnel and even district leaders into a symphony that supports the music education of all students in a school district. To do so, an effective leader must be able to empower staff. The effective leader realizes the need to inspire the use of all resources that are naturally found in the music department as well as collaborating with other school district departments. I am proud to say that my music colleagues find me to be a superior candidate for a leadership position in your district.
