COUNCILMEMBER EMERALD JOINS HER COLLEAGUES IN APPROVING THE FY14 APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE The City Council, on July 30, passed the Appropriation Ordinance, the final step in the Citys FY14 budget process. This caps a hugely successful budget effort led by Councilmember Emerald that resulted in the following for Council District 9: The Central Avenue Mini Park/Skate Plaza, Charles Lewis III Memorial Park, a youth bus pass pilot project, and additional street lights in City Heights, Southcrest, Mt. Hope, and Mountain View. Also, the Mayor, Councilmember Emerald, and her colleagues funded more police academies and police equipment, and funding for a 911 (Computer Aided) Dispatch system for first responders.
