Selection of Vice Chancellor

Applications are invited from Distinguished Persons for the post of Vice Chancellor, Indian Maritime University (IMU), Chennai. IMU was established by an Act of Parliament in 2008 with Headquarters at Chennai by subsuming seven legacy institutions with six campuses at Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Cochin and Kandla. The University aims to achieve academic and research excellence in the three broad domains of maritime sector namely, Trade, Resources and Security which encompasses merchant navy, ship design, building and repair, ports and equipment, hinterland evacuation, supply chain management, offshore oil, seabed minerals, aquaculture and fisheries, coastal zone management, tourism, environmental sustainability, piracy, border management and hydrography. IMU is looking for a Vice Chancellor who is the Principal Executive and Academic Officer of the University and shall exercise general supervision and administrative control over the affairs of the University. In the near future, the Vice Chancellor is expected to stabilize, strengthen the academic excellence and to accelerate the growth of the University towards international standards.
