Using the Zend Training Center

Your classes will be conducted using the Zend Training Center at:

http://zendtraining.webex.com
Please be sure to log in early, as classes will start on-time We recommend using IE as your browser Make sure you download all materials prior to the class start

Join can join the audio portion of the class through VOIP or phone

Be sure to use the Attendee ID # when you dial in

It appears in the pop-up Telephone Information box, or you can find it along the bottom left edge of the meeting window

All Participants will be automatically muted

Use the Menu bar to communicate

Dont use the Q&A option

Sharing
During the Class your instructor will share his/or her Screen with you. Once they do that you will no longer see the Main Webex window instead you will see the instructors Presentation or Studio (in the VMWare image) and a floating Webex menu (Below). You can use this to get back to main webex menu or pull up parts of the participant panel.

We record each class session
They can be viewed for one month after class ends
They cant be downloaded They take a while to buffer up

RECORDED SESSIONS tab on the left of the screen

What is a Breakout Session?

Breakout Sessions allow you to code independently or with a team

member to complete longer coding exercises during your course

Your instructor will visit you (or your team) to provide individual

guidance and check your progress

While you are in a breakout session, your telephony (VOIP or phone)

becomes a private connection with the instructor and any other people within your breakout session
You share your desktop during these sessions so your instructor can

see and guide your work

!! CAUTION: Close all personal applications and files prior to joining each class once you share your desktop, your instructor and any people within your breakout session can see all files you have open on your computer

Joining Your Breakout Session

Once your Instructor has enabled Breakout

sessions, your screen will automatically change

Click on "Share Your Desktop" so you can access

your VMWare image to complete your exercise, and show your instructor your work

Working with the class exercise images

Upon registration, you received a confirmation email with instructions on how to download and install the VMWare

The Image is very large and we recommend downloading prior to the class start If anyone is still having issues with this, please stay on at the end of class so the instructor can assist

The exercise image contains all the files you will need to complete this class, as well as providing a PHP environment on which to work through the exercises Why use an exercise image?

We need to be sure that everyone in the class has the same experience with the course materials code files and project(s) If participants were to use their own systems, the instructor would spend a great deal of valuable teaching time troubleshooting the individual issues of each person's system; we want all of the class time devoted to learning
