Configuring a 1734-ADN and Point I/O modules for the first time 1.

Assemble the 1734-ADN to all bases and insert all 1734 modules into the bases. 2. Power-Up the Point I/O system, DeviceNet network and associated scanner module. Give the Point I/O at least 60 seconds to power up. 3. The PointBus Status LED should blink RED as should the DeviceNet Status LED. 4. Go online with RSNetworx for DeviceNet version 3.0 (build 19) IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure all steps to Unregister and Register the NEW EDS files have been done prior to attempting this. 5. Double click on the 1734-ADN adapter and verify the revision of the module is at least v 2.001

6. Select the parameters tab.

7. The software will then prompt you to upload or download. Select download.

8. The following screen will then appear for the 1734-ADN.

9. Select the Auto Start Mode drop down and from the list select the type of mapping required.

NOTE: AutoStart mode is done only once and when enabled will also, by default, automatically apply AutoAddressing to the ADN. Once all modules have been assigned their node address and mapped to the ADN this parameter will return to its default state of Do Nothing. 10. Once selected click on Apply.

11. You will be prompted to download the changes to the ADN.

12. Click Yes and watch the LEDS on the Point I/O system. IMPORTANT NOTE: Give this step some time it may take as long as 30 or more seconds before the Point system completely resets all the module and power cycles. 13. At this point the PointBus status will be solid green and can now be mapped to the scanner.
