Jo Brister Seven Things Students Want to Know... 1. Am I in the right room? 2. Where am I supposed to sit? 3.

What are the rules in the classroom? 4. What will I be doing this year? 5. How will I be graded? 6. Who is the teacher as a person? 7. Will the teacher treat me as a human being? I will greet all of my students every morning at the door with a "Hello or How was your evening?" I will provide nametags on their desk so they have a place that they know is theirs during the school year. My rules will be clearly posted on the wall so that they know what is expected of them during class. Students will be learning 30-45 minutes lessons in reading, writing, math, and social studies that will prepare them for the next grade level. Students will be graded fairly and without biases based on homework and test assignments. My students will see that I am passionate, kind and giving person that will go above and beyond to help them reach their goal of completing the school year successfully. The students in my class will be treated with respect and understanding which they will reciprocate to the teacher (me) or any other adult that comes into our classroom.
