The graph provides information about the use of water worldwide and more particularly in agriculture, industrial and

domestic use ,in the span of a century from 1900 to 2000. In 1900, almost 500Km3 of water was spent for agricultural purposes. The following years a remarkable increase occurred /took place reaching its highest point/culminating in 2000 when the Km3 consumed increased almost sixfold. On the other hand, up until 1940, people did not use great amounts of water for industrial and domestic purposes. In the yearsthat followed an upward trend is observed and by the end of 2000 the use of water was a mere 1000 and 500 Km3 of water respectively. A remarkable observation is that during all these years most water was used for agricultural purposes as opposed to domestic use where the least water in Km3 was spent. Moreover, the table demonstrates the use of water in Brazil and Congo in 2000. Brazil which has 176 million residents consumed 359 m3 of water, whereas Congo which is a small country with a population of 5,2 million people only used 8 m3 of water.
