THE CATERPILLAR STORY SUMMARY

The poet has beautifully composed the poem The Caterpillar Story Through this poem ,the poet has described the life span of a butterfly. Initially, the caterpillar being dull & sleepy led a relaxed and comfortable life. But later, it started working steadily making a tight cocoon for itself.

Then, suddenly through a split , out came a butterfly and now says the poet, it wasnt lazy anymore for it had a pair of wings of black ,white & red. Being a butter now ,it moved quickly from place to place till it was time to says Goodnight.

Subjective reflects Q1-Who was Dick Whittington? A1-Dick was a poor orphan who came to London to make his fortune and in the end he became the Mayor of London. Q2-What did Dick send to Africa? A2-Dick sent his cat to Africa. Q3-What did the church bells seems to tell Dick? A3-The church bells seemed to tell Dick to turn back and not leave London.

Q1- What did the two rich men who came to the village tell Dick? Was it true? A1-The two rich men who came to Dicks village told him that he should go to London as the streets there were paved with gold . This was not true in literal sense-the streets were not actually paved with gold. However ,it was true in the sense that there were riches found in London and Dick could make his fortune there. In the end Dick did become rich and successful. Q2-Who are the kind people in the story ? Who are not? Q2-Among the kind people in the story is Dick-who shared his food with cat though he was starving himself . Also Alice,

Who was kind to a poor boy and gave him the idea of sending his cat to Africa. The captain of the ship , who sold Dicks cat for a fortune and then was honest enough to give the treasure to Dick, was also a kind man. The unlike people in the story were the people of London who refused to help a poor , starving boy.
