Media Alert Runners wanted for Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundations Road Race Team August 12, 2012 WHAT: The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism is seeking five additional runners to complete their fundraising group, "Dougie's Team", for the New Balance Falmouth Road Race on August 12, 2012. After successfully taking on the 2012 Boston Marathon, the Flutie Foundation is creating a new team of passionate runners interested in supporting the cause. Runners of all abilities are wanted for the sold-out, 7-mile road race along the coast of Falmouths beautiful beaches. Those already registered for the race must raise at least $500 in donations to join "Dougie's Team". New entrants must raise a minimum of $1,250. All proceeds will benefit the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism's funding of support services for individuals and families living with Autism. FALMOUTH ROAD RACE: August 12, 2012 WHERE: Race begins in front of Woods Hole Community Center 68 Water Street Woods Hole Falmouth, MA, 02543 Autism now affects one in 88 children in the United States, and the numbers diagnosed continue to dramatically climb. Proceeds will benefit the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, a charity that Doug and his wife, Laurie, established in honor of their son Doug, Jr., who was diagnosed with autism at age three. The Foundations mission is to support families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder.
