Knights of Columbus at Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony at Holy Spirit Church

Ramona Assembly in Hemet, with its associated councils, hosted their annual flag retirement ceremony at Holy Spirit Church. Flags that were no longer suitable for display were retired properly in a patriotic ceremony, according to Knights of Columbus Insurance representatives.

Francisco R. Camacho of St. Patrick Council 3051 in Wilmington hands a council-made Year of Faith box to a first communicant at St. Peter and Paul Church. In honour of the Year of Faith, Knights of Columbus provided packets that included a rosary, a pamphlet in order to pray the rosary in addition to a Eucharistic adoration prayer card to 170 first communicants. San Leandro Council 3637 restored the faade of St. Leander School. Knights washed the walls and floor, painted the brickwork and a statue of the Virgin Mary, and planted new flowers.

Fullerton Council 4018 volunteers at Loma Vista Memorial Park simply by assisting to clean the graves of veterans and furnishing all of them with crosses as well as U.S. flags. Knights of Columbus insurance also participated in a Memorial Day wreath-laying ceremony at the park.

St. Nicholas Council 10590 in Laguna Hills sponsors four pancake breakfasts every year to raise funds for seminarians and to support local food banks.

People in St. Lucy Council 12542 in West Long Beach lower a new tree into a hole during the treeplanting activity in the Long Beach neighbourhood. Knights of Columbus collaborated with the city and with other civic groups to plant a variety of trees from Chinese Elms to Japanese Mulberries in Silverado Park and the surrounding streets.
