How to Plot Graph and Determine Coordinates Using Geometers Sketchpad (GSP) Software

Step 1 Select Graph and New Function in the GSP menu bar.

Step 2 Select Graph and New Function in the GSP menu bar. Type the required equation using the numeral, algebric symbols and operation e.g. The function f(x) = 2 x2 + 4/x 20 will be key in as 2x^2 + (4x) - 20 Choose equation menu and select y = f(x). The above equation will appear at the side of the screen 2x^2+4x-20

Step 3 Select Graph in the menu bar and then select Plot function. The graph of the function will be plotted.

Step 4 Highlight the function on your computer screen. Select Graph in the menu bar and then select Derivative. Repeat step 3 to plot the graph of the first derivative of the function.
