The patient looks well today. (well=healthy) You look good in your new dress. ( good looking) You look well in your new dress(healthy) When your sentence has linking verb, you should use adjective. You feel bad about the accident. If your sentence has action verb you should use adverb. The accident damaged the car badly.\
