School Sport Program Term 2, Ms Robinson


During Terms 2 and 3, Ms Robinson will instruct a fitness circuit for 3-6 School Sport. The fitness circuit is aimed at students developing in the following areas:
Cardiovascular fitness Gross motor skills Ball skills Team work

Each sports group will participate in the program for 2 weeks. The activities are as follows:

Activity 1
Warm up game Alligators and Travellers. Students divided into 2 groups alligators and travellers. The Travellers must cross an imaginary river in the fitness space. The Alligators wear braids and chase the Travellers as they try to cross to the other side. Anyone tipped must stay in the same spot. This is repeated until there are 1-3 Travellers left. Students swap teams and repeat.

Students divided into teams of 6 for competitive relay teams. Each group must race along allocated line, performing activities outlined below in separate relays:

Dribbling a soccer ball Bouncing a basketball Paddle boards - both arms at once Paddle boards - an arm at a time Skipping ropes and star jumps Running

Flexibility

Walking lunges and push ups Cool down activity: Students play The Triangle Game and then instructed to stretch arms, legs, shoulders and hip flexes.
