Panjab University
Panjab University (PU) has a long tradition of pursuing excellence in teaching and research in science and technology, humanities, social sciences, performing arts and sports. PU campus also attracts and supports the best minds and recruiting faculty who excel at teaching and research. The University has 75 teaching and research departments and 15 Centers/Chairs for teaching and research at the main campus. The PU campus also hosts the North-Western Regional Centre being set up by the Indian Council of Social Science Research. The Gandhi Bhawan-the major landmark of city beautiful Chandigarh is located at the university campus and has stunning architectural structure with a library and an auditorium. The department of Chemistry is one of the most prestigious departments of Panjab University. This department includes many faculty members bestowed with F.N.A., F.A.Sc., F.N.A, and some of them have received coveted awards such as Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award, Jawaharlal Nehru fellowship, Raman and Palit awards among others. The department has been selected by the UGC for COSIST and Special Assistance Programme (SAP) and is the Centre for Advanced Studies in Chemistry for the last 16 years. The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India has accorded the department with the status of "DST-FIST Supported Department". The department is well-known for its research activities and is fully equipped with research laboratories including state of the art Central Instrumental Laboratory (CIL). Objectives of the Conference


The conference aims to cover diverse fields of chemical sciences including pharmaceutical chemistry, biotechnology, nanotechnology, material science and other allied areas. The scientific sessions would include key note and invited lectures by distinguished scientists from India and abroad providing a platform for intellectual exchange between students, research scholars and faculty.

Call for Abstracts


Interested participants may submit abstracts, not exceeding 250 words based on their original research work. Abstracts may be submitted at iciacs2013@gmail.com. It should carry the title of the paper (in CAPS), names and affiliations of the authors (in italics) and main text in Times New Roman Font size 12 & 1.5 line spacing. The name of the person presenting the paper/poster should be underlined. The last date for submission of abstracts is September 15, 2013

Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST)


Under the umbrella of National Mission on Nano Science and Technology (NANO MISSION, DST Govt. of India), which aims to foster multifaceted growth and outreach of nanoscience and technology, INST has been set up as a centre of excellence for undertaking research and generate products/devices and technology for the application in the area of energy, environment, medicine and agriculture. Land for INST has been allotted by Punjab Government in Sector 81, Mohali (Part of Knowledge City). The institute has started its operation from the Habitat Centre in Sector 64, Phase X, Mohali since the Director, Prof. A.K. Ganguli took charge in Jan, 2013. The building has been renovated; the offices, some laboratory space, and guest rooms are at present operational. Experimental facilities are currently being set up at the transit campus and equipments are under procurement. INST has plans to commence Ph.D. Program in this year and M.S /M.Tech Program in Nano Science and Technology in the coming years. The apex executive body of the Institute is the Board of Governors chaired by Prof. C.N.R. Rao, FRS, which has been constituted with eminent scientists and senior functionaries from the Government including representatives from the Government of Punjab. Website: www.inst.ac.in

Accommodation
The participants may be provided accommodation in guest houses/ faculty houses (available on the campus at subsidized rates)/ hostels on first cum first serve basis. Arrangements will be made only after receiving the duly filled accommodation form till October 01, 2013 along with the accommodation fee {Rs.1500(Delegates)/Rs.800 (Research scholar/students)}.The standard tariffs of hotels at Chandigarh range from 2000-5000 per day per room which may be booked directly.
