Logical Design
From what I can gather is that the company is not using its IP addresses effectively, since Class C networks is being used on each floor. Each floor wastes many IP addresses, because each Class C network provides up to 254 IP addresses. Recommend using a high-speed Layer 3 switch for the building LANs. They can use the router for Internet and WAN access. The primary recommendation is to use private addresses for the network. With private addresses, the hospital could release eight of the Class C networks to the ISP, retaining two for ISP connectivity. With private addresses, the company can choose to use 172.16.0.0/16 for private addressing. The addressing scheme shown in Table 17-2 provides sufficient address space for each network. Fig: Proposed IP addressing. NB:i) Since flow 3 through floor 7 have WLAN, We assign them network 172.16.8.0/24 with a capability of supporting of up to 25 clients. ii) Servers are located on 1st floor on network 172.16.0.0/24 with zero clients/hosts
