Recommended Laptop Requirement

We are encouraging students in PYP 4 up to PYP 6 to bring personal laptop computers from home to be used at school. This fits with our High School policy, where most students from years 7 12 have their own personal laptop. Below is the minimum specification for student personal laptop. Laptops that do not meet the minimum specification will not run successfully on the school network. PC Notebook Platform is preferable Processor : Minimum Intel Core i3 RAM Hard Disk Optical drive Network Adapter USB Port Firewire iEEE 1394 Operating System Software required : Minimum 2 GB - 4 GB is preferable : Minimum 320 GB : DVD-RW : LAN Ethernet RJ-45 100/1000 Mbps Wireless Network Adapter - WiFi iEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n : Minimum 3 ports USB 2.0 : preferable : Minimum Windows XP Service Pack 2 Windows 7 is preferable : Microsoft Office 2007

Please note bringing a laptop from home is completely optional and is not compulsory. We have school laptops and desktops in each class for students who do have personal laptops from home will not be disadvantaged. We also ask that all students from PYP 1 to PYP 6 have their own portable USB Flash Disk (flash drive). However, where having a personal laptop is definitely optional, we required that all students have their own flash disk, minimum capacity 4 GB.
