NOTE: There will be an informal Group Discussion with the candidates during the Individual Interaction sessions. Selection Guidelines ACTIVITY OBJECTIVE Statement of Purpose / Drawing To know about the candidate's reasons for engaging with cinema and joining a film school. The drawing exercise will help the examiners to gain a perspective on the candidates' state of mind. To gauge critical abilities in formulating ideas and opinions with clarity. To gauge basic creative skills and ability to work in a team. To meet the candidates one-on-one in order to get a better understanding of their personal history and to help them get ready for the final interview.
Guidelines for Interview: Broadly, the interview panel needs to take a final call on whether the candidate is suitable to take the course or not. The interview may begin with asking the candidate to present himself or herself vis-a-vis their interest in cinema and why they want to join a film school. Questions may be centred around testing the candidate's self-confidence and motivation in going ahead with the course, based on the activities conducted in the orientation session.
There may also be a few questions to clarify some details not known in the statement-of-purpose.
