ABSTRAK

This research was based on complaint of some patients about food service due to many
factors, including quality of menu and availability of budget for providing foods. A budget of
providing foods is one of components to determine quality of menu that has effect on degree of
satisfaction. In this case, the budget determined by General Hospital of Mukopido Tolitoli in
2004 is only 9.24%, it is much less that standard of Department of Health, that is 20-40% of
hospital budget. A limited budget brings a composition of patient’s menu incomplete so that the
taste is not tasty, in turn it make patient unsatisfied.

This research purposes to fine out some relationship, including budget of providing foods and
quality of menu, and satisfaction of patient, quality of menu and satisfaction of patient.

This research used analytic observational method with a cross-sectional design. Samples
consisted of 18-45 year old patients hospitalized and at least they had hospitalized for three
days. Choosing samples used a purposive sampling technique. Analysis of telationship among
variables of research used quadrate multiple test (X2) with significance of P<0,05.

There are relationship between budget of providing foods and quality of menu, and
satisfaction of patients, quality of menu and satisfaction of patients.
