Dr. Mark Schwartz specializes in the treatment of relational difficulties in marriage, dating, and/or destructive relational patterns. With more than 30 years experience, he has expertise in working with childhood trauma and sexual issues. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, he was formerly the Director of the Masters & Johnson Institute. He lectures to therapists internationally, and has authored numerous publications and books. He prefers short-term, very change-oriented therapy. Often times past trauma or childhood issues block a person's capacity for intimacy and happiness. He also specializes in trauma resolution, depression, impulse control disorders and addictions including eating disorders, sexual compulsivity and co-dependency. Treatment approaches include self psychology, DBT, family systems, and EMDR. Objectives: 1. Review and apply attachment theory to taxonomy of ED. 2. Discuss ten interventions to improve clinicians skills with Ed clients using attachment theory. 3. Utilize internal family systems as a vehicle for facilitating self-cohesion. *3 Continuing Education Credits will be provided by Sierra Tucson.
