INTRODUCTION Background Study The area where we encountered this case was in Metro South Medical Center located at National Road Molino IV, Bacoor, Cavite. The group has decided to conduct a study on Community Acquired Pneumonia because we want to further enhance our knowledge and understanding on how this disease is contracted and managed. We are willing to do this case to challenge our minds in analyzing the problem and to gain new insights on how to effectively prevent this disease. Significance of the Study This case will help the group to be knowledgeable about factors and circumstances that commonly predispose people to community acquired pneumonia thus we will be able to identify patients at high-risk. It will also help us in effectively preventing pneumonia and deliver effective health teachings to patients that has a high-risk of contracting the disease. This case will also render the group with more familiarity and comprehension of the said disease. Goal After this case study, we will be more cognizant and acquainted with how Community Acquired Pneumonia is contracted, its processes, how to prevent the disease. Its pathophysiology and the nursing management required for this disease. Objectives Define Community Acquired Pneumonia Formulate effective nursing care plan utilizing effective nursing process To make an effective and realistic teaching plan To be well-informed on what nursing management should be done with the disease Understand the pathophysiology of CAP To learn new clinical skills as well as sharpen the current clinical skills required on the management of a patient with pneumonia
