Greetings, Let's say it together, "Wow, where did the summer go?!" Hope you had an enjoyable summer and are ready to head into the next season. Proverbs 3:5 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding..." God is with us, we can trust in Him. I'd like to share these thoughts with you from a great devotional- "Jesus Calling." Read as though Jesus is speaking to you. I am taking are of you. Trust in Me at all times. Trust Me in all circumstances. Trust Me with all your heart. When you are weary and everything seems to be going wrong, you can still utter these four words: "I trust you, Jesus." By doing so, you release matters into My control, and you fall back into the security of My everlasting arms. Before you arise from your bed in the morning, I have already arranged the events of your day. Every day provides many opportunities for you to learn My ways and grow closer to Me. Signs of My Presence brighten even the dullest day when you have eyes that really see. Search for Me as for hidden treasure. I will be found by you. God bless you,

Operation Christmas Child: We have a good start on items donated for this ministry. Way to go!--and keep shopping. Heres a chance to be even more involved: We can get passes for a group to work at the distribution center in Minneapolis the first week of December on Mon., Tues, or Wed. It is really fun and gives you a personal feel for the mission by listening to Christmas music and hearing testimonies of children's

lives being changed and also from people who were at the hand out sites. Very moving! It also puts you in a better mood to Christmas shop if that is an area you can use a boost in each year! Let Bonnie Loidolt know what day you could go by the deadline, Sunday, Sept. 15th. Thank you.

Pastor Bob and Carol are offering a 6 week small group experience for couples entitled, "His Needs Her Needs, Building a Better Marriage". Regardless of how long you've been married or the current condition of your marriage, the principles of this study will help you make your love for each other last a lifetime if you are willing to apply them. For more information, feel free to contact Pastor Bob.

never to young OR too old to do memory work from the Bible. As I type this we are short of some teachers and many listeners for the year. I pray that God will raise those people up to teach the children. It makes such an impact on their lives, until you participate in this fun, you won't know what blessings you as an adult are missing. I pray that if God moves your heart that you listen to the whisper and join this team to teach. We also will have some Small Groups beginning again. Please watch the bulletin for days and times and watch for sign up sheets. Again, one is never to old to dive into God's word!! Hopefully some of you have looked at the "Right Now Media" web site and discovered the cool material/ reading sources that are there. I have personally done 3 so far and all of them were great. They are in the Small Group Study library if any one is interested. There are many studies in there for people to check out and use! Please take a look, consider a Small Group, and I will help you get started. I pray that as the heat of the season seems to be upon us, that you feel the heat in your hearts to learn more about our loving Father God. I pray that you enroll your children in Sunday School and make it a priority to engage them in His word daily. You will be amazed how you will learn right along with them...if you try. Blessings on the new season, may God protect you all, give you the energy to get back to routine, and hold you safely in His hand! Happy back to Schools!!! Brenda Hackett Small Group Team Leader

Greetings all from the heat of Summers end! As we bring summer to a close, we begin a new chapter in our children's lives. Last year we embarked on a journey through the Bible with "The Story". This year through Sunday School we will travel down the road of verse. Each child will receive their own bag and book for the year. We ask that they take care of them for the bags will be turned back in at the end of the year for future use. The children will be challenged to do some memory work, learn weekly lessons, and a variety of new songs to take with on their journey to maturity. One is

Shepherd of the Pines Mission Statement: Connecting People to GodTo Othersand To Service The purpose of this congregation is mandated for us by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as found in the words of the Great Commission (Matthew 28), namely first of all to Go. To leave our walls of refuge, going into all the world, comprising of our families and neighbors. We plan to achieve our purpose by identifying persons with whom we are particularly well-equipped to serve and reach with the challenge of becoming Disciples of Christ. Second, to Make Disciples or in the words of St Paul, To equip the saints (Ephesians 4:12). This is to be understood as helping people to live the Christian life here on earth. Preparing and encouraging young and old alike to find and to use their God given gifts and abilities for the extension of His Kingdom, and to grow in fervent love for God and for others. Thirdly, to Baptize as commanded by Jesus Himself. As God reaches down to mankind with His means of grace, He would have us baptize His people, bringing them into His family and Kingdom, granting to them life, forgiveness of sins, and eternal salvation. And lastly, to continue steadfast in His Word, Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. A continued zeal for the study of His Word, the Bible, is necessary for the growth of any Christian congregation. Thus, the Word of God will be taught and studied in full measure and His Word shall be the rule and norm of this congregations faith and life. To that end, our every effort and energy will be used in motivating, training, and putting to use our time, and talents and treasures to Make Disciples.
