Sometimes even the Lord Jesus disciples were scared. One day when Jesus was with His disciples (Luke 8), He told them that He wanted to go to the other side of the lake (the Sea of Galilee). So Jesus and the disciples got in a boat and began to sail across the lake. Jesus fell asleep in the boat. Youd be sleepy too if you were teaching so many people all the time! While they were sailing, a big storm hit and waves started to rock and sway the boat. Water gushed over the sides. No wonder the disciples were scared. That must have been a HUGE storm if it scared the grown-up disciples. Can you imagine them running around the boat screaming, Master, were about to drown! The Lord Jesus got up and told the winds and waves to stop. Guess what the wind stopped blowing and the waves stopped beating against the boat. Everything became very quiet. The disciples couldnt believe their eyes. Jesus had control over the wind and rain! So what can you learn from this Bible passage? There are times when you will be scared. Even grown-ups get scared sometimes. BUT even when it feels like things are out of control, Jesus is with you. In Matthew 28:20, Jesus says that He is with us always. He was with the disciples in the boat, and He is always with us too, even when life gets out of control.
