Gas Lift Problems

Order of importance: Safe Stable operation Deepest injection Right gas lift

Tips and Techniques

Visualizations: Standard dashboard not yet developed (but all use gradients, performance curves, IPR/VLP) New visualizations possible (e.g. self-organizing maps, See Wikipedia) Systems should not be too complicated: Start with key problems to solve Simplest models that are fit for purpose are the best Consider usability and maintenance

Tips and Techniques

Large model development/sustainability: Plan for resources both for development of surveillance systems and maintenance. Build trust by investing staff in building models, and use experts to certify them.

Tips and Techniques

How to get your instruments to deliver good data: Need preventive maintenance on meters, gauges sufficient to supply good data. Help rank maintenance of equip with value of data included Dont use Ops budget for maintenance of instruments needed for Engineering? (i.e. if you want it done, pay for it) Have contests between assets on who can have best allocation factors Sell the use of the data to Ops/Maintenance/Sr. Leaders
