Beijing to foster local rivals to FedEx and UPS The Ministry of Transport is planning to expand the mainland's express

c ourier sector by 150 % by 2015. The government has rolled out policies that investment in road constructi on may be slowed down. The investment has reached 882 million Yuan in 2011and the growth rate is lower than 2010's growth. China mainland has built 71,400 kilometers of highways, including 11,000 kilometers of expressways. Under the government's latest five-year-plan, the ministry will nurture at l east five large Chinese express courier companies, each with revenue of more than 1 billion Yuan by 2015. The 12th Plan period is an important strategic opportunity for the rapid g rowth of our nation's express courier industry. According to a report, a major factor in the recent domestic growth of lo gistics was e-commerce. There is still large room for e-business develop ment and logistics development. It is estimated that China's e-commerce revenue will grow 75 per cent fr om 2010 to 2013. IBUonline is a B2B foreign trade platform, which has helped many SMEs to complete foreign trade online. IBUonline has also cooperated with m any large logistics companies so the international buyers or China suppli ers will have more options. The mainland's fixed-asset investment in highways and waterways rose 7. 1 per cent to 1.42 trillion Yuan last year. Logistics service improvement will facilitate e-business development.
