Kinlea Hensel English III 11 September 2013 Topic Proposal: CPR Statement of Purpose (Thesis): The purpose of conducting this research project is to find the importance of CPR. To become a RN I have to be able to understand the basics on CPR. What Does CPR mean? How does Cpr help others? Why do you have to be CPR certified? Background: I have recently gone through a CPR training class this past summer. I have had the chance to practice some of the CPR basics on the lifeguards. Being able to work at Myrtle Waves gave me a chance to become CPR certified. Not only have I got the chance to become CPR certified, but I have always had a personal interest for understanding the basics. Significance: Researching and learning about CPR can help me in my major. From this topic proposal I hope to learn more about the basics of CPR. I will hopefully learn mor of the importance and how it will help me in my future of becoming a nurse. The research will help to answer the following questions: How is CPR important? What impact does CPR have on me and others? How will it benefit me? Description: The research that I gather will help conduct the information needed for CPR. My research will come from different sites about CPR, so I will mainly be on the internet. I will watch different videos on how to perform CPR. I will also talk to my nursing teacher (Janet Hodge) and my mom to get different types of feedback. Methodology: To answer my research questions I will go online and research the basics on CPR. My research will help me focus on the basic information and how it will help benefit me in my future career. I will watch many different videos online showing me how to perform the CPR procedure. After I use the internet for my research, I will go to my nursing teacher and my mom to ask the same questions. I plan on doing it in this order because it will help me have different feedback on the CPR basics and benefits.

Problems: I dont anticipate on having any problems during the research process. I have a computer at my house, which has internet access. I work at Myrtle Waves, but the end of the season is almost here. Nothing should interfere with my topic proposal.
